"Cook" is the second episode of the Series 3 and the 21st episode overall.

This episode primarily focuses on James Cook and how his antics begin to cause a divide in his friendship with Freddie Mclair and JJ Jones.

PlotEdit

On Cook's 17th birthday, a group of his classmates gather at his uncle's pub for a cool party that turns out to be underwhelming. They are about to leave when Freddie's sister Karen calls Freddie to ask for drugs, mentioning her best friend Kayleigh's engagement party, which the gang then sets off to gate-crash. When at the party, Cook's antics grab the attention of Kayleigh's father, notorious gangster Johnny White. The night soon degenerates into a massive brawl when Cook's attention grabbing karaoke sparks Johnny to attack Cook and take him away through jealousy. Cook is threatened because of his antics and is thrown off a balcony, landing on food that covers nearby gangsters. This prompts a battle between the two warring families. The gang barely manage to escape, but split up after Cook tries to come onto the girls but to no avail. After the girls leave to go home, Freddie tells Cook he is tired of looking after him and leaves Cook and JJ to go to a local brothel, where JJ refuses to go further than kissing with his partner, yet he is still charged (£10) anyway. Meanwhile Cook overhears Johnny White in a nearby room. He plans to blackmail him, and the gangster antagonizes him until JJ has to forcibly restrain Cook from beating him. Cook realizes what he's done when Johnny tells him: "The next time I see you...you're dead." He leaves and ends up outside Freddie's house at six in the morning, and the two share an intense heart-to-heart about their friendship, while Freddie reluctantly agrees to look after him again- provided he reins in his behavior a bit, a promise Cook subsequently breaks.
